The Bascombe Trilogy by Richard Ford follows the life of Frank Bascombe, an everyday American man. These novels highlight the trials, tribulations, and triumphs that many of us face across our lives. For Frank, it’s falling in love, getting fired from his job, becoming a father, getting divorced, coping with a dying child. I chose images from the Library of Congress based on the weighty narrative of each novel. The skewed, neon typography reflects the sardonic tone of the novels.
